HAPPY BIRTHDAY Gwen!! It's Gwen Stefani that is the B-day gal today. She is a shocking 41 years old!
I am only midly obsessed with her and thought I would share a few pages of my fashion journal with you.
(To preface -
She is not the only person in this journal or that might be a bit strange. She is in there a ton b/c I find her to be my favorite fashionable person probably on the planet. The other entries in my journal include other celebrities like SJP, Diane Kruger, Keira Knightly and Kate Moss. Also included are my favorite outfits, styles, patterns, eras, hairstyles and much much more. More of these entries to be included in this blog at a later date...)
These are all taken from magazine articles and photos I have found over the years. To her in honor of her amazing style and her birthday.
She has helped me out on many an occassion in which I thought I had nothing to wear. Always use your imagination with your clothes!!
Thank You GWEN for so many years of being such an amazing woman.
(p.s. I do plan to do more posting from now on. I promise!)

crafty photos...
Well, I didn't get a new digital camera for my birthday, but I had a friend who offered to give me her old one! How perfect. I gladly accepted, especially since she didn't even want any payment.
I am now taking photos of all the crafties that I have been working on for the last few months.
Oh there will be plenty more to come in the near future. I will keep updating...

Summer Solstice Dress
This is my very first dress to make from a pattern! I made it for our Summer Solstice Party.
Green High Waisted Skirt
This skirt was a size 20 when I bought it at a thrift store. I wanted to model it after a skirt I found online (below) and it turned out perfect!
Bleached Pants
My version of Alexander McQueen's bleached pants (below). I LOVE THEM!
Dyed Shirts
This was a white tee with music, but of course the armpits turned yellow. Nothing a little fuschia dye can't fix!
5-pack of Men's White Hanes V-Neck Tees for $9.99 and transformed with Rit dye.
Oh there will be plenty more to come in the near future. I will keep updating...

my first dress...
Ok I have had many MANY dresses over the years. But this dress is special. It is the very first article of clothing I have ever made from a pattern all by myself. Thank you McCall's #M5094. I am almost complete. I have to hem the bottom, add the zipper, and the hook and eye.
I decided I needed a new dress for my Summer Solstice/Pre-Birthday Party on Monday. And what's better than a completely customized dress with my own choice of pattern and fabric. If I happen to get a digital camera (only to be used for blogging about my crafts and selling on Etsy) I will show you the finished project!

Academy Award Fashion 2010...
As promised, I am here to talk about my favorite outfits from the 2010 Academy Awards Red Carpet.
I thought there were quite a few fantastic looks and quite a few bombs. Wanna see the best?
Thank you ladies for pulling out all the stops and looking fantastic! Meryl Streep has never looked so refined and classy and not at all matronly. SJP, well, she and Karl Lagerfield must be pretty tight since she wears Chanel fabulously all the time. Kate Winslet's YSL gown is so wonderfully 1940's and is just what I would want to wear to a red carpet event. Carey Mulligan and Maggie Gyllenhaal look beautiful with perfect dresses to show off their figures. Diane Kruger is another repeat wearer of Chanel and pulls it off every time.
I heard many many people talking about the Givenchy worn by Zoe Saldana and I hate to admit it, but I hated it. It looked like two totally random dresses thrown together. I also want to really like Sandra Bullock's dress, but I'm so annoyed that she won over Meryl that I can't put it in my favorites category.
I'm sad that award season is over. I guess I will have to wait until next year. Darn it.
In the mean time I will continue to watch movies just as much as always!

Sarah Jessica Parker
I have a small love affair with SJP. It probably has a lot to do with someone named Carrie Bradshaw, but still Sarah Jessica Parker is amazing!
*often wears Chanel
*"Lovely" is my favorite perfume
*married to Ferris Bueller
*related to an accused Salem Witch (yes, I watched "Who Do You Think You Are?")
*has wonderful designers for friends
*seems like one of the nicest people in the business. we should be friends!
*hello... she IS Carrie Bradshaw
Yeah. Pretty cool.
And, I cannot wait for Sex and the City 2!!
