I saw an article in Marie Claire by Nina Garcia about the new Chanel line. It had photos of the style of the runway show, the behind the scenes, and inspirations of Venice in the 1920's. Chanel's Makeup Creative Director took the makeup and hairstyles from the Italian heiress Marchesa Luisa Casati.
I immediatly fell in love with the collection, of course the B&W, simple and classic pieces, but most of all the makeup. I went home and looked it up. Luckily for style.com I was able to find the entire collection...
Chanel Resort 2010 Collection
Here are a few of my favorites...
The makeup in these photos inspired my own Halloween costume as a Flapper. I am not a pro with makeup, but my best friend happened to be in town and she is a makup artist! Ta-da! She was kind enough to do my makeup for Halloween...
So, thank you Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld for your ever beautiful clothes and imagination. They will always inspire me...

Gwen Stefani. Happy 40th!
Long ago in 1995, a wonderfully fresh band called No Doubt came onto the main stream radio scene and the MTV waves with Tragic Kingdom. I remember that album and their videos so vividly and it all had to do with Gwen Stefani.
I must confess... I love Gwen Stefani! I know it seems strange to idolize a human being, but she just happens to be talented and incredible and I guess it's ok. I love everything she does. I have now seen her on the Sweet Escape solo tour and with No Doubt and cried just a little with excitement at both shows. I also own 2 of her L.A.M.B. bags, a wallet, and the perfume.
In honor of her 40th birthday (yes, she is 40! although I would have never guessed it) just a few days ago, I thought I would show you some of my favorite photos I have found of her. She transforms herself every few years and these photos are just a few of the characters she can pull off.
...as Modern Victorian Era
...as Jean Harlow
...as Eliza Doolittle
I have tons of other photos and will periodically showcase certain favorites of her style and relationship with husband, Gavin Rossdale. I must say they happen to be my all time favorite couple.

troubling images...
A friend of mine posted this website on Facebook and I thought I would share it with you. It goes to show how ridiculous the fashion industry can be about what they think the consumer needs to see to purchase clothes/products. And we are wondering why girls now days have body image issues...
Ralph Lauren model
This is the image that is causing all the fuss...
This is another aggravating advertisement, although not as bad as Ralph Lauren.

Those photo-shoppers are really GOOD! It's nice to know Jessica Alba has hips and a normal womanly frame, in real life.
Check out the site and be disgusted!!!
